The Tastiest Yorkshire Delis...
One of the great things about owning a holiday home at Long Ashes Park is that you get to try the local Yorkshire produce time and time again. Fortunately enough, Yorkshire has a huge choice in local produce so we’ve picked out some great spots that you should visit when you’re next up relaxing in your caravan.
Keelham Farm Shop
This special little place is in Skipton, only 10 minutes’ drive from Long Ashes. It has a Café, butchers, fishmongers, florists and supermarket. The food you can pick up here is truly amazing and will give you a proper taste of Yorkshires finest produce to take back to the caravan and rustle a tasty meal. You’ll love this place so much, you will want to take some things back with you, so factor in another trolley full for the journey home!
Yockenthwaite Farm
Breakfast is your most important meal of the day and you want to enjoy a special breakfast whilst you’re on holiday relaxing. If you want a break from that greasy fry-up, get yourself over to Yockenthwaite Farm. They are known for producing a range of their home-made granola cereal in all different flavours and varieties. It comes by the bag load so get yourself a few flavours to bring back. It’s located about 45 minutes further into the national park from Long Ashes so it’s the perfect excuse to see more of the stunning countryside you’ll be staying in.
Kilnsey Trout Farm
If you want a shopping experience with a difference, then this place is for you. How many times have you bought yourself a fillet of trout from the supermarket and just ‘enjoyed’ it? At Kilnsey Trout Farm you can catch your trout. Their lakes stock Rainbow, brown, blue and golden trout growing to more 20lb in size! But here’s the catch (pardon the pun), you can take your fish home and cut and fillet it yourself for the freshest trout you’ll ever have.
If you’re a touch squeamish, they do offer a free filleting service at the farm so they can deal with fish for you, leaving you to take home the freshly caught fish to enjoy back at the caravan!
If none of this shopping malarkey is for you, then you can enjoy the best tastes of Yorkshire at our on-site pub, The Gamekeeper’s Inn where our talented kitchen team are waiting for you!
